Urea I (1750 MTPD)

The process licensor for the granulation unit is Stamicarbon and Thyssen Krupp. The production capacity of the unit is 880 metric tons per day (MTPD). Initially commissioned in 1973 with a production capacity of 550 MTPD, it underwent an upgrade in 1977 to reach 1100 MTPD. This upgrade involved adopting the process technology of Total Solution recycling, evaporation, and prilling, and operating with a pneumatic control system. In 2002, the unit was further modernized and revamped to achieve a production capacity of 1750 MTPD. This enhancement incorporated the process technology of stripping and granulation. Alongside the capacity upgrade, the operating system was transitioned from a pneumatic control system to a DCS (Distributed Control System) setup. The major equipment utilized in the unit includes a pool condenser, urea reactor, urea stripper, MP stage heater, carbamate condenser, and more. These components play crucial roles in the granulation process, ensuring efficient and effective production.

CURRENT STATE Currently, the facility is in a dismantled state, with all components match marked and kept
in preserved condition to enable the reconstruction of the unit with a Minimum Engineering study.
