EyeCare

The Samaritan Hospital

Samaritan Hospital's Eye Care Department, managed by the Samaritan Social Service Society, is dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness through comprehensive services. Each month, it examines over 3,000 patients and performs 300–450 free surgeries. An optical shop also operates nearby.

The hospital offers promotive, preventive, and curative eye care through screening camps, surgeries, and health education. Covering 8 districts, it conducts around 500 outreach camps annually, along with daily vision centre screenings, mobile vision centre programs, awareness drives, and rehabilitation for the blind.

Relevance of
Samaritan Hospital

Samaritan Hospital in Satna serves as a cornerstone of ophthalmic excellence within the Bundelkhand region, distinguished primarily by its high-volume, precision-driven cataract surgery program. Operating under the aegis of the Samaritan Social Service Society, the institution seamlessly integrates advanced medical technology with a profound charitable mission to uplift rural and marginalized communities. The hospital’s regional relevance is further amplified by its robust community outreach initiatives, which include hundreds of annual eye-screening camps designed to identify and provide essential transport for patients who otherwise face significant barriers to specialized care. As an NABH pre-accredited facility, Samaritan Hospital effectively bridges the gap between affordable social welfare and rigorous clinical standards, performing thousands of successful cataract procedures each year through strategic collaborations with various humanitarian organizations and donors.
